As my 12 year old and I await the release of “New Moon” I’ve been creating my own versions of the Quileute Wolf Pack.  The six pack of hats (shown below) are available now on BearsHats.com.

I’ll be showing off my wolf hats at the opening of New Moon, will you?

I chose the outer colors based on Stephanie Meyer’s descriptions. Sam = black, Paul = Silver, Jacob = Red-Brown, Seth = Tan, Leah = Gray, Quil = Chocolate Brown.

For the inner colors, I decided to pay tribute to the first to turn wolf in each of the two packs (Sam’s Original Pack and Jacob’s Breakaway Pack). Sam of course was first, so the hats inspired by him and Paul’s are lined with black fleece. Although Quil does not join Jacob’s pack until “Breaking Dawn”, he is the first in the Breakaway pack that turns wolf. Thus, the hats inspired by Jacob, Quil, Seth, and Leah are lined with chocolate brown fleece.

The accent colors are based on that “red spark” that Bella sees during “Breaking Dawn” as she reaches out her shield to protect the wolves. For each member under her shield she could feel their red spark. Visually, the combination of bright red and black is a little too strong. So while the Breakaway Pack’s more earthy tones work well with the red accent, I chose a darker burgundy for the Original Quiluete Pack of Sam and Paul.

I’ve recently been receiving a lot of orders for wolf hats lately … and in colors that resemble the “wolf pack” descriptions in Stephanie Meyer’s series “Twilight.” Being a twilight fan myself, here are my suggested colors for a custom Bear’s Hat inspired by your favorite Twilight wolf:

La Push Pack: (Inner color=Black like Sam, Accent Color=Burgundy)

Sam (black, black, burgundy)

Paul (silver, black, burgundy)

Breakaway Pack: (Inner Color=Red-Brown like Jacob, Accent Color=Brown)

Jacob (red-brown, red-brown, brown)

Quil (chocolate brown, red-brown, brown)

Leah (gray, red-brown, brown)

Seth (sand, red-brown, brown)

When I completed my most recent order for an all black PEARBear hat, I was very amused by how much it reminded me of the Canadian Black Bears I just watched on the NatGEO channel.

Coincidentally enough, the order was sent to a customer in British Columbia, CANADA.

On Thursday August 21st, University Settlement Beacon Summer camp put on their own version of Broadway’s Lion King entitled “The Aftermath.” Bear’s Hats is proud to have donated 58 hats to the students of this summer camp to help them achieve their off-Broadway dreams!

After ordering an ORIGINAL Bear hat as a gift, Angel requested an unusual hat with 2 different styled ears. His order inspired the “ANGEL” line of Bear’s Hats.

My Sister Elora has quite a collection of Bear’s Hats… and every winter it grows… I think she wants a panda hat next.

“What do the Inner, Outer, and Accent areas refer to?”

Answer:

	The Inner area is the fleece liner that actually comes in contact with the top of your head (seen left in white).
	The Outer area us the fleece, fur, or plush exterior surface that comes in contact with the elements and is seen by the public (seen left in light brown).
	The Accent areas are the satin or silk inner (front-facing) parts of the animal ears and/or the tie-strings on the CITY, PEAK, and JULIE hats (seen left in brown).
